A different kind of case study

Every other project on this site is client work — scoped, delivered, and handed over. Alpha Store is different, and I want to be upfront about that: it's my current employer, where I run web development and e-commerce as Senior Web Developer & E-Commerce Manager, alongside the independent client work described elsewhere on this site.

I'm including it because it's genuinely relevant, not despite the relationship: it's the deepest, most continuous experience I have running real e-commerce for an Apple-authorised retail brand — day-to-day catalog, checkout, performance and SEO decisions, not a single fixed-scope build. It's also why the e-commerce and SEO advice elsewhere on this site (see e-commerce & CRM services) comes from ongoing, current practice rather than only past projects.

What the work involves

Running web development and e-commerce for an Apple retail brand means the site has to hold up to a demanding standard on both sides: technical (fast, stable, secure — Apple customers notice) and commercial (product discovery, checkout conversion, and search visibility all have to work together, since Alpha Store competes directly with other authorised resellers for the same searches).

SEO here isn't a one-off audit; it's ongoing — technical health, product and category page optimization, and monitoring what's actually working, in the same honest, metrics-first way documented on the blog's PageSpeed Insights case study for this site.

Specific traffic, ranking or revenue figures for Alpha Store aren't published here, since this is an active employer relationship rather than a project I can freely disclose commercial results for. If that changes, this page will be updated.
